This national contest is for third, fourth and fifth grade students with a strong interest in language arts and vocabulary. There are a total of three contests held during the school year. Students participating in this contest will come to the Challenge classroom in November, February and April. At least four weeks prior to each contest, the students will receive word lists with activities for learning/practicing the vocabulary. The contest requires the students to work independently to solve a variety of vocabulary analogies within a time limit of twenty minutes. Students are also strongly encouraged to study at home. Following the contest, results will be shared, and the Challenge teacher will review the test with the children.

Following the test, children review the material with their Challenge teacher.
